Traveling Safe with Flying Doctors

*Note: The Flying Doctors Program does not replace medical insurance; it is for air evacuations to the nearest hospital in cases of emergency.

All of Travel Wild’s safaris come with the added protection of a Flying Doctor’s membership.  Let’s go over the benefits and why it SHOULD matter to your clients:

Millions of visitors fly into East Africa annually in search of big game, blue waters on the coast, or one of a million other gems hidden in Kenya and Tanzania.  The majority leave unscathed, but some are not so lucky.  The occasional broken bone, serious illness, or random accident can require a client to need immediate medical attention…oftentimes in the remoteness of a national park or coastal getaway.  Enter Flying Doctors.

Let’s say for instance, Bob breaks his leg in the Masai Mara.  With Flying Doctors, he is provided an air evacuation to a Nairobi hospital immediately.  Trained Doctors or nurses accompany Bob on the evacuation flight, providing necessary medical treatment while in the air.  Flying Doctors will then arrange an ambulance or taxi for Bob from the airport to the hospital and issue any prescriptions before-hand if required.  Bob is out of the Mara, in Nairobi and into a cast within a few hours.

Travel Wild ensures that every client is covered under the Flying Doctors Program, as should every responsible tour operator in East Africa.
